SMITH Louise Xmas Pic

Borough: Newham

Trade: Electrician

Qualification: Level 3 Electrical Installation

Main Contractor: Hills

Sub-Contractor: RB Emerson

Project: Dunedin Road

Louise was first introduced to RB Emerson in August 2018, when she completed a traineeship on Hill Partnerships Walthamforest project, Dunedin Road. Louise had no experience or qualifications in electrical installation prior to starting on site, but her work ethic and attitude were so positive that RB Emerson offered her a position through K10 after just one week of her work experience. Since the completion of the electrical works at Dunedin Road, RB Emerson have moved Louise across to City North, a Telford Homes project in Islington.

‘’I’d like to say thanks to K-10 and Emersons for helping me throughout my traineeship and so far through my apprenticeship. I appreciate this award as my time on site has been a big step for me as one of very few females on site. I would also like to take the time to encourage other females to consider a career in construction because you will be doing and learning something new everyday!’’ Louise Smith, Electrical Apprentice.

‘Louise has really impressed everyone with her willingness to learn and has settled right into the team. The K10 traineeship gave RB Emerson, as a company, a chance to assess Louise’s commitment and reliability before deciding that she was suitable for an electrical apprenticeship. She fully deserves this award after working so hard to get the opportunity, I’m looking forward to working with her as she continues to develop into a fully qualified electrician’’ Stephen Lampard, RB Emerson Contracts Manager
