Kojo wins at the annual LLDC awards

“Dedication’s the key..”

A massive congratulations to all of our fantastic apprentices who attended and were nominated for awards at the London Legacy Development Corporation Apprenticeship Awards last week.

K10 has placed over 100 apprentices with LLDC since the 2012 London Games, giving young people the opportunity to work on some of London’s most high profile projects and iconic buildings.

We’re so proud to announce that Kojo Foster has joined other award-winners in the K10 hall of fame! Kojo was deservedly honoured with the Most Improved Apprentice Award, and here’s what he had to say:

“Winning the award has motivated me to continue working hard, and I’m very happy that everything is going well. I’m fully changed, my mum’s happy with me, dad’s happy, family’s happy, and I feel happy inside as well…just be dedicated to do it, dedication’s the key…”

Resilience, determination, dedication… these are qualities which we know all young people have. Kojo is a great example of how a young person’s passion and ability can be converted into success. Dedication’s the key.

Check out this fantastic video celebrating the LLDC apprentices; fast forward to 5.17 to catch Kojo!

Alex Lobsang, Kojo’s Apprentice Manager, was understandably over the moon: “Kojo started with K10 in November 2014. He was extremely positive and excited about starting his career in construction and showed a passion for the industry. After starting on site Kojo has been a joy to work with. He is extremely hard working and always completes every task to the best of his ability, with a smile on his face. He has not only been a great K10 apprentice; he has also been a fantastic role model on site, mentoring and supporting his colleagues and new apprentices. Kojo always comes across positive, friendly and happy to help in any situation. He has a very bright future in the construction industry”.

It was great to have so many of the K10 family at the ceremony; here’s what some of the team had to say:

“Being a former LLDC apprentice myself, it was a great achievement and honour to have been a part of the transformation project. Also, it was a great privilege to be invited back to see the new cohort of LLDC apprentices celebrate their achievements. I would like to congratulate Kojo and the rest of the LLDC apprentices.” Simran Kaur, former Business Administration apprentice.

Jack, Apprentice Manager, had a “great night. All the apprentices deserve to be given the praise and recognition that they received. It’s refreshing to see such enthusiasm and excitement surrounding apprenticeships and it really is a good time to be involved in something that’s shaping the lives of our future generation. Congratulations to all of the nominee’s and of course, the winners.”

Again, from everyone at K10, MRG, Balfour Beatty and Central Essex Interiors, a huge well done to Kojo and all other apprentices at the awards!
