This is a great opportunity for a dedicated and committed individual who wants to become a fully qualified plumber. Working on site 4 days a week and attending college 1 day.
A plumber’s apprentice assists plumbers in the installation of commercial plumbing systems with the intent of becoming a qualified plumber. Apprentice plumbers are often responsible for unclogging drains, including faucet, commode and urinal drains. These apprentices might also be required to repair and replace basic plumbing hardware such as toilet seats and floor drains that are usually located in communal showers.
Apprentice plumbers are required to have both excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the skill of listening and following both simple and complex instructions. Apprentices should have some degree of plumbing experience and/or plumbing qualifications.
Your job could include:
On all jobs you would use hand and power tools, which could include welding equipment.
You will work on site for four days per week and attend college for one day a week. Most site hours are Monday to Friday, 08.00-17.00.
It is likely to take 18 months to 3 years to complete this apprenticeship, depending on current qualifications and experience.
On completion of NVQ L2 in plumbing you will gain your blue trade specific CSCS card which enables you to work as a qualified plumber.
K10 will enrol and fund your qualifications through a SFA funded training provider.
Apprentice plumbers are required to have good written and verbal communications skills, including the skill of listening and following both simple and complex instructions. Apprentices need to have at least Level 1 in Functional Skills or GSCE grade C or above in English, Maths and ICT.
It will be an advantage if you have already completed technical certificates in plumbing, have previous related work experience, CSCS and/or PASMA.
